Garnish-(verb.) to provide or supply with something ornamental; adorn; decorate.
Sentence- The wedding room was plain and dull, so he garnished it with lavish decorations.

Thank you for clarifying these vocabulary words. I now know that grievous means a large deal of grief or sorrow. I addition, I have learned what the word "garnish" means, as I also have written this word down for further explanation. The way in which Betty Smith uses such advanced vocabulary allows for the reader, or student, in our case, to truly explore a large scheme of new words.
